Scottish Reformed Conference

May 02, 2012

The Moderator Designate of the General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland will give one of the key addresses at next week’s Scottish Reformed Conference.

Rev. Dr Iain D. Campbell, minister at Point on the Isle of Lewis, has entitled his sermon ‘Judah’s pledge’, taking his theme from Genesis.

The conference takes place at Hamilton College near Glasgow on Saturday 12th May, and last year’s event was attended by almost 500 people from Scotland’s evangelical congregations. Alabama pastor Dr Steven Lawson is the other speaker.

It is not the first time Dr Campbell has preached at the conference, having delivered a keynote speech in 2008 on John 19.

The Point minister said: “This is a return visit to the Scottish Reformed Conference (SRC) and I am looking forward to it very much.

“Any opportunity to proclaim the Word of God is welcomed, particularly if it enables Christians from different denominations to worship together, as the SRC does.

“I look forward to sharing the conference with Steven Lawson, alongside whom I preached in Geneva three years ago at the Calvin Quincentenary celebrations.”

Dr Campbell was in Edinburgh recently to launch his two new books, I Am – looking at the sayings of Jesus, and Plan, Pray, Prepare, Preach – a book on preaching.
