Peru missionaries touring congregations

July 02, 2012

A Free Church of Scotland missionary who is head teacher at one of Peru’s top schools is to tour Scottish congregations over the coming weeks.

Clive and Ruth Bailey both work at the Colegio San Andrés in Lima, where Clive is head teacher and Ruth offers individual tuition in English to individual pupils.

The Colegio is a mixed nursery, primary and secondary school, right in the heart of Lima, offering a solid Christian education to Peruvian children from the age of 3 to 17.

The Baileys’ first engagement is at Dundee on 4 July, and there are several opportunities across the country for Free Church members and adherents to come along and hear about their impressive work. A timetable is at the bottom of the page.

Mr Bailey (pictured above) said: “We look forward to sharing with the Church here in Scotland some of the wonderful things that our God is doing in the Colegio.

“He has blessed us with young lives given to Him, and just in the last few weeks we have seen the fruition of a lengthy process handing over the school to a local board.

“We will be delighted to see you at any of these meetings.”

The Colegio was founded by Free Church of Scotland missionary Reverend John A Mackay in 1917, and recently celebrated its 95th anniversary.

The Free Church continues to provide missionary personnel for the school.
