The Free Church of Scotland has appointed a new Communications Officer, who will be involved with the website, and promoting the projects of the Home Missions and International Missions Boards.

Gordon Bell, 26, joins us from the Christian Institute in Newcastle, where he was Media Officer and assisted with the Coalition for Marriage campaign.

Prior to that, he was a Press Officer for the Church of Scotland for over four years, where he dealt proactively and reactively with the local, national and international media on a daily basis.

He has a first class honours degree in journalism and studied in Glasgow, his home city – where his father is still a Church of Scotland minister.

Away from the office, Gordon is married to Kath (pictured together above), who is a nurse, and they live in North Lanarkshire.

He has already visited several Free Church congregations, so do say hello if he pops up at your church on a Sunday.
