New Colegio headmaster starts work

January 21, 2013

The new headmaster of one of Peru’s top schools has taken up the reins, following an informal handover ceremony on Friday.

Señor Jesús Rafael Guzmán Gallardo takes over at the Colegio San Andres in Lima from Free Church of Scotland missionary Clive Bailey, who is returning to his homeland in March.

On Friday there was an informal celebration with some of the teaching staff and students, with Mr Bailey symbolically handing over the keys to the school.

There will now be a transition period as Señor Guzmán, a former congressman and businessman, takes up his new role as headmaster.

Under Clive Bailey’s leadership, the Colegio has been completely transformed.

It now has almost 800 pupils on its books and is regarded as one of the best Christian schools in Peru.

Please pray that the school continues to have a huge impact on Peruvian young people and their families.
