Assembly Arrangements Committee

This Committee makes the practical arrangements for the annual meeting of the General Assembly of the Free Church every May in Edinburgh.

The Committee decides on the number of commissioners who are to attend from each Presbytery of the Church, and on matters like appointing someone to look after delegates from other churches, making arrangements for various functions held during the Assembly week, as well as making sure that provision is made for the processing of Assembly Reports.

The Assembly Hall is maintained by the St. Columba’s congregation, who use it weekly for their services and activities, but the Committee liaise with their Deacons’ Court from time to time regarding any equipment, renovations or furniture that may be required for the Assembly.
