Nominations The task of this Committee, as its name suggests, is that of bringing nominations to the Assembly for the filling of vacancies in the various committees and Boards of the church on an annual basis. A certain proportion of members of Committees and Boards reach the end of their period of service each year and these need to be replaced by the Assembly. Through the Clerk the Committee contacts each Presbytery of the church in November for a list of elders willing and able to be appointed to these vacancies and once these have been returned the Clerk issues Presbyteries in January with a list of vacancies due at the next Assembly asking for their nominations of ministers and elders required to fill the vacancies. The Clerk collates these returns and the Committee uses them at their meeting each March to decide on which names are to be finally presented to the Assembly. Vacancies in the General Trustees are also similarly processed through the Committee. Contact Details |
